Hodge to Start Playing in Broomfield

(Boulder-CO) After being shot, battling infection, and struggling to find his way back to the basketball hardwood, Julius Hodge has been assigned to the Colorado 14ers. The D-league 14ers are the Nuggets farm team and play at the newly constructed Broomfield Event Center. It has been quite awhile since Nuggets fans have had any good news on Julius, so such an announcement is welcome. Hodge appeared in 14 games as a rookie for the Nuggets, averaging 0.9 points a game. He also played in 11 games for the Austin Toros of the D-League, averaging 17.7 ppg and 5.5 rpg before his misfortunate run-in at a Denver nightclub ended in a car chase and gun fire.

Hodge is expected to be in uniform for the 14ers tonight as they take on the Idaho Stampede in Broomfield. Best of luck to Julius in his comeback. Hopefully he will soon be reunited with his teammates on the Nuggets.
