Donde Esta Nene?

(Boulder-CO) So I am not a doctor, despite playing one on this blog, but I do know that “contusion” is a fancy word for bruise. Nene has been sitting out since November 10th after he played against the Philadelphia 76ers and suffered a bruise on his surgically repaired knee. This left the Nuggets with two power forwards, and about 20 million dollars or more, sitting on the end of the bench in street clothes. When he was playing in those first few games he was having a hard time keeping pace with the Nuggets desired tempo, but can you imagine what kind of shape he is in now after not playing for 12 games and nearly a month?

Ben Maller reports on his rumors and notes page, “Nuggets' injured forward-center Nene has pinpointed Friday’s game against Miami as a possible return date from his lengthy knee injury. Nene missed his 12th straight game Wednesday with a right knee contusion. While the 6-foot-11, 268-pound Nene is experiencing constant soreness, he says he has become more confident in his knee in recent practices.”

Let’s just clarify one thing real quick, ok? If you are pinpointing something that means that you have thought out, analyzed, compared other outcomes, and concluded that what ever you have pinpointed will happen on that exact date or instance. There should be no “possible” in the same sentence as “pinpointed”.

Hopefully, Nene will be in uniform when the Heat come to town, but I am not counting on it based upon the convoluted statement on Ben Maller’s page. First, Nene was in the best shape of his life and doctors were calling his knee a beautiful success. Then the slow process of playing his way back into NBA game-shape was taking its course. Now both rumors are suspect in my book, but one thing is for sure; El Nuggets de Denver necesito ayudo de Nene actualmente! Or something like that…
